More than $50 billion of foreign aid money is pumped into Africa annually. But did you know that roughly the same amount of money is illicitly siphoned out of the continent?

Offshore companies play a major role in the $50 billion sucked out of Africa each year. This game will test your general knowledge of Africa, and challenge you to uncover secrets hidden inside the Panama Papers.

About

The Panama Papers investigation by the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists, Süddeutsche Zeitung and more than 100 media outlets around the world is based on a trove of more than 11 million secret files, and allows a never-before-seen view inside the offshore world – providing a day-to-day, decade-by-decade look at how dark money flows through the global financial system, breeding crime and corruption, and stripping national treasuries of tax revenues.

This game, produced with support from the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting, explores the impact of this financial secrecy on the continent of Africa.
